On April 21, Apple announced that Tim Cook will become executive chairman of Apple’s board of directors and John Ternus, senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, will become Apple’s next chief executive officer (CEO). As the transition phase begins in one of the largest tech companies of the world, people are wondering what qualification are needed to become the CEO of Apple.

John Ternus (born in 1975) joined Apple in 2001 as a member of the product design team. Since then, he has worked with Apple and has now been appointed as the next CEO.
