Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) suffered a 54-run defeat to Punjab Kings (PBKS), slipping to eighth on the points table, with four defeats and two wins. After Punjab Kings piled up 254-7, courtesy of Priyansh Arya’s 93 and Cooper Connolly’s 87, LSG needed an extraordinary performance to get close, but they fell way short of the target. The team came up with a surprise move and opted with Ayush Badoni as opener. Badoni is not unfamiliar with opening, with decent experience at the top in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, but in a tense chase, the move to dislodge the successful opening pair of Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram took many by surprise.
