Founded in 2008 by Peyush Bansal, Amit Chaudhary and Sumeet Kapahi, Lenskart started as an online contact lens seller before expanding to prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses. Headquartered in Gurugram, the company designs, manufactures and retails eyewear through its website, mobile app and over 2,000 physical stores across India and abroad. It went public in November 2025 with an IPO of Rs 7,278 crore, listing on BSE and NSE. Bansal, who also appears as a judge on Shark Tank India, serves as its CEO.
