Bindyarani Devi continued India’s memorable run in weightlifting by winning a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026. The 27-year-old weightlifter from Manipur lifted a total of 199kg to finish on the podium. She kicked off the proceedings by lifting 83kg, 85kg and 87kg, respectively, in the snatch event. She only had one valid lift of 112kg in the clean and jerk event. Nigeria’s Rafiatu Folasha Lawal won the gold medal by lifting 229kg to set a CWG record. Canada’s Ann Sophie Taschereau clinched the silver medal by lifting 215kg.
