Highlighting the pressing need for intervention, the doctors’ association wrote, “Many young specialist doctors are currently without employment or academic engagement solely due to the delay in the completion of the counselling process. The continued uncertainty has caused significant professional, financial, and psychological hardship to the affected candidates. It has also impacted healthcare institutions across the country, which continue to await the joining of super-speciality residents who play a vital role in patient care, emergency services, teaching, and research.”
