Many people today are observing the fast of Devshayani Ekadashi. For the unversed, it is one of the most significant Ekadashis. Also called Ashadhi Ekadashi, Padma Ekadashi, Hari Shayani Ekadashi, and Maha Ekadashi, this day marks the beginning of Chaturmas, the four-month period when, according to belief, Lord Vishnu goes into yogic sleep on the cosmic serpent Sheshnag.
