Singer and actress IU, who was recently seen in Perfect Crown, after her hit K-drama When Life Gives You Tangerines, is taking her legal fight against online defamation to a cross-border legal procedure to find an anonymous social media user accused of repeatedly spreading false information about her. Her agency, EDAM Entertainment, confirmed on July 20 that it has requested a US court to seek evidence from Meta, the parent company of Threads and Instagram, to disclose the identity of the person behind the posts. The move is part of the agency’s increasingly tough stance on online harassment, following years of legal action against malicious commenters.
