The first day of MLP San Diego wrapped up on Thursday, with the Columbus Sliders leading Group B after the opening round of matches. The Columbus Sliders are in first place with a perfect 2-0 record. The SoCal Hard Eights are second after winning their only match to improve to 1-0. The Orlando Squeeze and Phoenix Flames are third and fourth, respectively, with identical 1-1 records.
The Florida Smash are fifth after a 0-2 start, while the California Black Bears are sixth with a 0-1 record. No Group A matches were played on Thursday. The top four teams from each group will qualify for Super Sunday, where teams will compete for regular-season standings points.
Sunday’s standings points:
- Group A No. 1 vs. Group B No. 1: Winner – 25 points, Loser – 18 points
- Group A No. 2 vs. Group B No. 2: Winner – 15 points, Loser – 12 points
- Group A No. 3 vs. Group B No. 3: Winner – 10 points, Loser – 8 points
- Group A No. 4 vs. Group B No. 4: Winner – 6 points, Loser – 4 points
- Fifth-place teams: 1 point each
- Sixth-place teams: 0 points
