The decision comes after the Israeli Defense Ministry warned earlier this month that its rehabilitation system was at a risk of collapsing. According to the ministry, over 26,000 wounded IDF soldiers and security personnel had sought treatment since the war began, while roughly 65 percent of them were for psychological conditions. The total number of wounded veterans, as per the ministry, was expected to surpass 90,000 in 2026 and reach around 100,000 by 2028.
