Yamal was born in 2007 and just celebrated his 19th birthday yesterday. The young blood’s legacy was pretty much set in stone just a few months into being birthed. For context, the very same year, Messi, then all of 20 years old himself, posed for a charity calendar project organised by the Spanish newspaper Diario Sport, in collaboration with UNICEF and FC Barcelona. The pairing was utterly random but a young Messi was handed an infant Yamal. For those wondering, it was a random local raffle in Mataro which landed the 6-month old in the spot anyway. The photos are adorable – an unassuming baby, being bathed, held and coddled by a man who would go on to be known as ‘the God of football’.
