The United States avoided launching attacks on Iran on Thursday as regional mediators intensified efforts to de-escalate hostilities, Axios reported, citing US officials.
According to the report, the Trump administration remains committed to finding a resolution, while technical-level discussions on a possible nuclear agreement continue.
Qatar, Pakistan and other regional mediators reportedly held multiple phone calls with Iranian and US officials on Wednesday in an attempt to revive negotiations. A regional source involved in the mediation told Axios that diplomatic efforts were focused first on securing de-escalation before setting a date for further technical talks.
