For those who are unaware, BAT-BMS is an app developed by Shenzhen Grenergy Technology which is a Chinese manufacturer and was never designed to prank people. The app was supposed to allow people to wirelessly check things like state of charge, temperature, voltage, and overall battery health. Now, the app looks decent on paper but the trouble brews when people started misusing it in case of e-rickshaws that come with by default switched on Bluetooth and have no password protection as well.
