India’s digital payments ecosystem continued its rapid expansion in June 2026, with the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) processing 22.72 billion transactions, according to the latest figures released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). The platform also facilitated transactions worth Rs 28.92 lakh crore during the month, reflecting sustained consumer reliance on instant digital payments.
