Who Can Claim?
The headline figure is Rs 30,000 but not every buyer will automatically receive it. Under the new policy, buyers of eligible electric two-wheelers can receive a flat purchase incentive of Rs 30,000 during the first year of implementation. The benefit reduces to Rs 20,000 in the second year and Rs 10,000 in the third year after which the purchase subsidy ends. Alongside this, electric scooters continue to enjoy a 100% exemption from road tax and registration charges. This basically reduces the overall on-road price.
