The National Weather Service specifically recommended delaying travel through higher elevations and backcountry areas. For anyone who absolutely needs to travel, the agency suggested packing a winter storm kit. That means bringing along tire chains, booster cables, a flashlight, a shovel, blankets and extra clothing, along with water and a first aid kit, essentially anything that could help someone survive if they end up stranded.
