Shreyas Iyer made his T20I captaincy debut in the first game of the two-match series against Ireland on Friday (Jun 26). The right-handed batter created history and broke an elite record previously held by Rohit Sharma. Iyer has become the Indian to make his T20I captaincy debut after leading in most T20s. He played 114 matches as the captain in T20s at different levels before making his debut as the India captain. He has captained Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai in T20s.
