Rahul Ravindran has shared his views on gender-based violence and societal power dynamics after a social media user asked him to make a film about ‘atrocities of women against men.’ The conversation emerged in the wake of the recent Lohagad Fort murder case involving Pune-based real estate director Ketan Sharma, who was allegedly killed by his fiancée Siya and her partner. Responding to the request, Rahul offered a detailed perspective on why he believes isolated crimes committed by women should not be viewed as a larger systemic issue. The filmmaker, who directed The Girlfriend starring Rashmika Mandanna, also explained the themes explored in his film and why he chose to focus on women’s experiencis.
