President Trump addressed the issue directly in a post on Truth Social today. Trump stated that no money has been handed over to Iran or released from Iranian funds by the United States so far. He said that some of Iran’s money, which he described as being “totally controlled by us,” will eventually go toward purchases from American farmers and ranchers, specifically corn, wheat, and soybeans, framing it as a way to address food shortages in Iran.
