Bangalore Weather: Bengaluru is expected to see light rain throughout this week as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating seven days of light rain in the city, starting from June 20. The city is likely to experience widespread thunderstorms and rainfall, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours.

Residents are advised to prepare for potential disruptions, including waterlogging and traffic slowdowns.

Active Monsoon Conditions Expected

Recent weather patterns show a significant increase in monsoon activity across Karnataka, with Bengaluru being no exception. Although the IMD has not issued any warnings or alerts, residents are advised to carry umbrellas while stepping outdoors.

Areas such as Electronic City, Whitefield, and Koramangala may face challenges due to anticipated heavy rainfall.

Regional Impact and Warnings

In addition to Bengaluru, the IMD has cautioned residents in coastal districts like Mangaluru, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada. These regions are expected to face similar thunderstorm conditions, which may lead to hazardous weather patterns.

Other districts in North Interior Karnataka, including Belagavi and Dharwad, are also under severe weather warnings. Moderate rain accompanied by strong winds gusting up to 40-50 kmph and thunder-lightning is likely at one or two places in Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur and Koppal districts. Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Bagalkot, Belgaum, and Vijayapura districts may experience dry weather with light rain at some places.
