The study, carried out jointly by the Tribal Development Department and the Department of Community Medicine at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, surveyed 3,000 people between the ages of 15 and 49 across Chamba, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti. The findings point to significant gaps in awareness, prevention and testing, despite decades of efforts to improve healthcare access in remote mountain regions.
