The Recording Academy is making a major move for the 2027 Grammy Awards by adding Best Asian Pop Music Performance, the first-ever Grammy category devoted to Asian pop music. The new award will honour outstanding accomplishments across genres such as K-pop, J-pop, C-pop and other Asian pop styles that show meaningful use of one or more Asian languages. The category is one of five new additions announced as part of broader updates to the Grammy Awards. The Academy says the award is designed to celebrate artistic excellence in Asian pop music and recognise the genre’s increasing global influence.
