Scotland started strongly and created early chances, with Ben Doak testing the Haiti goalkeeper and Scott McTominay hitting the post. In the 28th minute, Scotland took the lead when John scored after a rebound and a couple of deflections. Scotland had a chance to extend the lead to 2-0 when Lawrence Shankland headed narrowly wide from a Doak cross. Haiti, meanwhile, stayed in the game and created some dangerous moments, but could not convert the moments into goals. The second half was also evenly contested, with both teams showing strong attack and defence, and Scotland eventually won the game by a close 1-0 margin.
