High-grade gliomas are among the most aggressive and difficult-to-treat brain cancers, characterised by rapid growth and poor survival outcomes. These malignant tumours arise from glial cells that support nerve cells in the brain and can cause severe symptoms including headaches, seizures, vision or hearing problems, balance issues, memory loss and speech disorders. In India, central nervous system tumours—including gliomas—affect an estimated 40,000 to 50,000 people annually, with brain tumours accounting for approximately 2% of all cancers diagnosed in the country.
