The long-awaited Tata Sierra EV could be unveiled in India in June. Tata Motors has already teased the production-spec version of the electric SUV, and now the enthusiasts are curious to know what the full model will look like. The EV will wear the iconic nameplate in a modern electric avatar. Design-wise, it will retain the retro-inspired styling. However, Tata is likely to give it a modern twist, similar to the ICE version, with new technology. Read on to know everything that you can expect the new Tata Sierra EV to bring to the table.
Tata Sierra EV Design
Based on the preview that Tata showcased during the ICE Sierra launch, the production-ready Sierra electric SUV will have the same boxy and muscular silhouette, albeit with a few EV-specific changes. The most noticeable change is at the front, where the Sierra EV features a closed-off body-coloured grille. There’s also a full-width LED DRL signature, unlike the ICE version’s split lighting setup. The headlamps are positioned separately within the bumper. Tata has also erased the Sierra lettering from the front, and the Tata logo sits on the body-coloured panel. The alpine window design behind the rear seats resembles that of the original Sierra. The rest of the design seems unchanged on the side. That said, we expect the alloy wheel design to be unique to the EV.
Tata Sierra EV Interior and Features
The interior has not been teased or revealed. Industry reports, however, suggest that the electrified Sierra
could largely mirror the ICE model in this department. There could be a three-screen layout and EV-specific colour themes. Expected feature highlights are likely to be dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, multiple airbags, a JBL audio system, and ambient lighting. The EV could also get V2L as well as V2V charging capabilities.
Tata Sierra EV Battery and Range
Tata Motors has not shared details on the powertrain yet, but the Sierra EV is expected to borrow a 55kWh unit from the electrified Coupe, the Curvv for base variants, and a bigger 65kWh or 75kWh unit from the Harrier EV for powering top-spec models. The electric SUV could deliver a claimed range of up to 500 kilometres on a single charge. An all-wheel-drive variant could also be on the cards.
Tata Sierra EV Expected Price
The Tata Sierra EV is likely to have a starting price of Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom), although higher variants with larger battery packs and additional features could command a premium. Once launched, the e-SUV from Tata will rival the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, VinFast VF 6, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella.

Here’s What the Tata Sierra EV Launch Could Mean To Buyers
The Sierra EV is more than another electric SUV. It shows the automaker’s intention to move beyond affordable EVs and enter the premium mainstream EV segment. With its roots in the past, modern technology, expected long driving range, and feature-rich cabin, the Sierra EV could become an attractive option for those buyers looking to buy their first electric SUV. If Tata manages to price it aggressively, the Sierra EV could emerge as one of the most significant EV launches of 2026.
