Director Buchi Babu Sana, who got severely criticised, finally broke his silence. On June 6, he openly addressed the issue through social media. “I believe cinema should entertain, inspire and connect with the audience and not make them feel uncomfortable or disrespected,” Buchi said. The director insisted that the characters in the movie were not meant to demean or objectify women. Thus, if any scene was interpreted otherwise, they have understood those concerns and sincerely regretted the discomfort caused.
