A large fire broke out near Rankin Highway south of I-20 in the La Mesa Road area of Midland on Friday afternoon. Witnesses reported enormous flames at the scene, with thick black smoke rising high into the sky.
Videos shared by witnesses show an intense blaze producing a towering column of smoke visible from multiple locations across the city. The cause of the fire and any potential damage have not yet been reported.
