In Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, starring Suriya in the lead, Indrans plays Mattancherry Sukumaran, a helpless working-class father from Kerala. Sukumaran travels to Chennai with his ailing daughter Binu to seek a liver transplant. However, tragedy strikes when the jewellery he carries to fund her surgery is stolen. Instead of receiving help, he is trapped and exploited by a corrupt legal system led by a manipulative lawyer.
