telangana cm revanth reddy challenges kcr to strip his leader of opposition post

Hyderabad: CM Revanth Reddy during a public meeting in Jayashankar Bhupalpally said “I will change my name if I don’t strip you of your Leader of Opposition post. I defeated you in the 2023 Assembly elections, reduced your party to zero in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, and we have also emerged victorious in sarpanch and municipal elections. In the Jubilee Hills and Cantonment by-polls, we have politically buried you.”

He further added, “This is my challenge, Congress karyakarthas will hoist the party flag on your political grave. In the coming elections, we will see whether it is you or me.” In a sharp attack over the Kaleshwaram issue, CM said that those who set 1 lakh crore on fire in the Godavari deserve harsh punishment.

Meanwhile, speaking on the demand for a probe into the Kaleshwaram Project, Revanth Reddy stated that the state government had taken a decision after detailed discussions in the Assembly, giving full opportunity to opposition leaders.

“We handed over the case to the CBI seeking strict action against all those responsible. It has been nearly nine months, but the Centre has not initiated the investigation,” he said. The Chief Minister also referred to earlier remarks by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, who had said that if the case was handed over to the CBI, “KCR and T. Harish Rao would be arrested within 48 hours.”

“Despite that assurance, no action has been taken so far. We have once again written to the Centre, urging immediate initiation of the CBI probe into the Kaleshwaram case,” Revanth Reddy added.
