After Shubman Gill spun the coin, it appeared that Parag called heads (although in a muted voice), and it fell down to tails, which meant that the Titans should have won the toss. In fact, Gill appeared to think he had won the toss too and was walking towards Ravi Shastri for the captain’s chat. However, the match referee claimed that he did not hear the call, and the toss was done again. Gill was evidently irked at the sequence of events. On the second instance, Parag called ‘heads’ loud and clear on the mic, and the coin fell in his favour. He decided to bat first.
