The period of Jyeshtha Adhik Maas is going on currenly. In Sanatan Dharma, the Purnima (full moon) of Adhik Maas is important. “According to the Hindu calendar, the Purnima of Adhik Maas occurs once every two and a half years. Adhik Maas is also known as Mal Maas or Purushottam Maas. Because this full moon falls in Adhik Maas, it is popularly known as Adhik Purnima. In Hinduism, Adhik Maas is considered a very sacred and important month. Therefore, the full moon that occurs during this month is regarded as special and different from a regular Purnima,” states Drik Panchang.
