Former CEC SY Quraishi took a stronger view of the reported objections. He pointed to Section 18 of the Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners Act, 2023, which says that the Commission’s business should, as far as possible, be conducted unanimously and that differences are to be decided by majority.
