A family member, on condition of anonymity, said, “We spoke to him few hours before the attack. He said he was crossing the Strait of Hormuz, and would talk later. But a few hours later, the ship he was on came under attack. Someone from the crew called and said he was missing and even tried to enter the engine room, but could not because of heat and smoke, and there was no light either. Later, the crew planned to abandon the ship. An Omani rescue team took them to the shore. The hiring company, Ultra Ship Management, they are still probing and assisting us.”
