After the meeting, Palaniswami, Velumani, along with former minister Dr C Vijayabaskar and other MLAs met Tamil Nadu assembly speaker JCD Prabhakar. They submitted a letter stating that they all are united and would function as one party. Meanwhile, Vijayabaskar also withdrew his earlier request in which he sought recognisation as a party whip.
