Shweta Venkat has strongly reacted to FWICE’s decision to ban Ranveer Singh. She has edited movies such as Gangs of Wasseypur, Newton, Superman Of Malegaon, Haseen Dillruba and has been a film editor for years. Speaking about the issue, Shweta revealed that editors across the industry have been trying to initiate discussions about serious professional concerns since 2023. According to her, editors approached FWICE seeking support in setting up a dialogue with producers regarding payment structures, pending dues and unhealthy working conditions. “We needed a dialogue with the producers,” she said, adding that several editors met the federation and were assured that discussions would take place. However, despite those promises, no concrete progress has happened in the last three years.
