Velavan Senthilkumar, one of India’s top squash players, was born in Salem, Tamil Nadu, on March 26, 1998. In March 2025, the left-hander achieved a career-high World No. 39. He became just the third Indian to win the esteemed junior competition when he won the 2017 British Junior Open Under-19 title. Later, Senthilkumar relocated to Columbia University, where he majored in psychology and played for the Columbia Lions. At the continental level, he has also been successful, helping India win the Asian Team Championship in 2022 and winning the Asian Doubles Championship with Abhay Singh in 2024 and 2025.
