Adipurush, released in 2023, also starred Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, Sunny Singh and others. The film faced extreme backlash for its visual effects immediately after its teaser launched. Adipurush’s release date was postponed as the makers revised the VFX. Despite the corrections, the audience had turned critical about the storytelling. The dialogues, penned by Manoj Muntashir, faced heat for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments and mocking deities with ‘unsophisticated language’. The lyricist-writer apologised and also said doing the film was a blunder.
