JEE and NEET Need More Than a New Syllabus – They Need a New Philosophy of Selection

There will obviously be substantial overlap. But the two are not identical. The entrance examination of the future should combine knowledge, application, reasoning and profession-relevant aptitude — for engineering: Mathematics, Physics, essential Chemistry, Computational Thinking and Engineering Aptitude; for medicine: Biology, essential Chemistry, relevant Physics, Clinical Reasoning, Situational Judgement and Behavioural Understanding. Over time, carefully validated technology can make these examinations more adaptive, secure and competency-driven — and a system that is structurally redesigned, not just more heavily policed, can finally be trusted to deliver them fairly.
