Flight 1009 Return to LAX: Chicago Bound Flight Turns Around Mid-Air

Flight 1009 left LAX shortly after midnight, more than an hour later than its scheduled departure time, according to FlightAware data cited by KTLA. The plane hadn’t been in the air for even an hour before it was already heading back. Flight tracking data showed the aircraft flying east out of Los Angeles before making its turn over the Coachella Valley, based on information from FlightRadar24.
