Interestingly, back in 2007, Awarapan had clashed with another Sunny Deol film, Apne, and lost the battle at that time. Now, as fate would have it, 19 years later, Awarapan 2 faced another Sunny starrer, Batwara 1947. But this time, the story is different. The sequel seems to be making up for what the original could not do all those years ago.
