Jr NTR’s shoulder injury has put Dragon shoot on hold. In the last week of July, the Telugu superstar injured his shoulder while performing an action sequence for the Prashanth Neel film. He underwent arthroscopic surgery at KIMS Hospital on Wednesday (August 12) and got discharged on Thursday (August 13). After getting discharged, Jr NTR will take a break of 2 to 3 months for recovery. During this time, Prashanth decided not to waste time, as he has reportedly kickstarted pre-production work on Salaar 2 starring Prabhas in the lead role.
What Will Prashanth Neel Do After Jr NTR’s Injury?
After surgery, Jr NTR will have to take a two to three-month break for recovery. Hence, the filmmaker Prashanth Neel is likely to use the time to advance pre-production work on Salaar 2: Shouryaanga Parvam. Due to injury, Prashanth Neel will also have to reschedule the shooting schedule of Jr NTR and continue work on portions that do not require the RRR star.
A source informed India Today that Prashanth Neel had planned to move into the next phase of Salaar 2 after completing Dragon. But due to Jr NTR’s injury and recovery time, he has a window to push the pre-production of Salaar 2 forward. He will utilise his time in writing, action planning, pre-visualisation and other groundwork on the Prabhas starrer.
The source also clarified that the Dragon’s schedule will be adjusted around Jr NTR’s recovery. “Right now, NTR garu’s recovery is the most important thing. Nobody wants to rush him back onto a physically demanding set, especially given the scale and nature of Dragon. Neel garu is completely on the same page about giving him the time he needs to recover properly,” the insider added.
Prashanth Neel Meets Salaar 2 Producer
Prashanth Neel has also met Hombale Films producer Vijay Kiragandur. They have tentatively titled Salaar 2: Shouryaanga Parvam. They met and chalked out the schedules. The duo has also locked the final script.
Coming back to Dragon, the film is scheduled to be released in June 2027 in theatres. The makers released the first poster and glimpse of Dragon on Jr NTR’s birthday in May. He is playing the role of a ruthless kiler, Luger, in a period action drama.
