Back in June 2025, protests broke out at the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, also known as Kerala Technical University (KTU), over its year-back policy, as BTech students belonging to the 2022-26 and 2023-27 batches studying across various engineering colleges affiliated with the university dreaded losing an entire year.
