Brittas alleged that Dev made a derogatory remark, calling him a “lungi wala”, while he was speaking in Parliament wearing his traditional dhoti or Mundu. In his statement, he said he is a proud Malayali and South Indian, and called the mocking of regional attire and culture “unacceptable.” On the same, the Left MP moved a breach of privilege motion against Dev in the Upper House.
