A man allegedly took his two minor daughters to a five-star hotel near Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport, strangled them to death and later attempted suicide, police said.
The accused, identified as SG Imran, a resident of Nagawara in Bengaluru, allegedly killed his daughters, five-year-old Shaik Zehara and 10-year-old Shaik Zoya.
According to police, Imran was facing marital disputes with his wife and suspected her of being in a relationship with another man. A note recovered from him allegedly mentioned the marital dispute and his suspicions about his wife’s alleged relationship.
Police are verifying the contents of the note and investigating the circumstances and motive behind the deaths. A police official said Imran told them that he did not want his daughters to grow up with their mother and allegedly killed them before attempting to take his own life.
Imran was admitted to a hospital following the incident and is currently out of danger, police said.
Further investigation is underway.
