Indian Government’s ‘Gen-Z-Fication’ Continues As MEA Joins Snapchat!

mea joins snapchat ministry of external affairs indian government gen z fication continues viral video

The Ministry of External Affairs of India is now on Snapchat, period! Yes, take your time to digest that. The last thing that anyone imagined would happen in India was watching a Parliament session where ministers would throw around Gen-Z lingo with ease– however, despite its possibility sounding like fiction– it did happen in the end. Then something that no one saw coming was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Instagram reels; however, that is exactly what started taking over: PM Modi’s back-to-back reels, addressing the nation on one thing or another.

At last, what just a while back was nothing but a meme- Congress leader Rahul Gandhi being compared to Batman- finally turned into something somewhat “official”, after Gandhi himself ended up joining in on the joke, by stating that no one has ever seen him and Batman in the same room together!

All in all, India saw some rather unexpected turn of events in the last few days– so when the Ministry of External Affairs of India announced that it joined Snapchat– the internet lost it– again!

Taking to social media, MEA’s official Spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, recently shared a video, where he announced that after “X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn”, MEA is now on Snap. He further asked netizens to add MEA on Snap, to “hear more about what the Ministry does, both in India” and through “missions and posts abroad”

“You followed us on X, on YouTube, on Instagram and on LinkedIn. Follow us on Snapchat, hear more about what the Ministry of External Affairs does, both in India and through our missions and posts abroad.”

The post immediately went viral, pulling all kinds of hilarious reactions. Some called it the “Gen-Z-fication” of the government, while others started sharing memes related to the same.

Check out the viral post:

“We’re now on Snapchat! Add us and stay connected for exclusive stories, updates, engaging content and more. Let’s Snap!” the post read.

The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Randhir Jaiswa’. The post was shared yesterday and pulled over 100K views from people.

Internet’s reactions:

“Gen Z effect. Soon many will be making GRWM reels, Kidding, this is fun,” a user said. “Got to see our government’s Gen-Z-Fication before GTA 6,” wrote the next.
