India on Thursday successfully test-fired the ballistic missile Agni-4 from the Integrated Test Range in Odisha’s Chandipur.
The launch, conducted under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command, successfully validated all operational and technical parameters.
“Medium Range Ballistic Missile ‘Agni-4’ was successfully test-fired from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur in Odisha on August 6,” the defence ministry said.
“The launch validated all operational and technical parameters. The test was carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command,” it said.
The Agni series of missiles includes: Agni-1 (with a range of 700 km), Agni-2 (with a range of 2,000 km), Agni-3 (with a range of 2,500 km), Agni-4 (with a range of 3,500 km), and Agni-5, which can strike targets up to 5,000 km away.
