The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the provisional answer key for Papers 1 and 2 of the Combined Medical Services (CMS) examination. Candidates who appeared for the exam can view and download it from the official website, upsc.gov.in, where it is available in PDF format.
The UPSC CMS Answer Key 2026 has been issued for Series A, B, C, and D for both papers. With its help, candidates can calculate their probable scores.
How to Download UPSC CMS Answer Key 2026 PDF
Follow the steps below to download the answer key:
- Visit the official website: upsc.gov.in.
- On the homepage, look for the provisional answer key link under the What’s New section and click on it.
- Now, choose between the General Medicine and Pediatrics or Surgery, Gynae & Obs., and PSM PDF link.
- A PDF will be displayed on the screen.
- Download and save it for future reference.
The UPSC CMS Answer Key 2026 contains important information such as the paper number, subject name, total number of questions, maximum marks, number of questions dropped, and number of questions considered for scoring.
Notably, the commission has not dropped any questions from the CMS provisional answer key for Papers 1 and 2.
As per the marking scheme, each correct response carries approximately 2.08 marks, while a penalty of one-third of the marks is levied for every incorrect answer. Unanswered questions do not attract negative marking.
The recruitment drive aims to fill 1,358 vacancies across Category I and Category II Medical Officer posts.
When to Expect UPSC CMS Result 2026?
According to media reports, the written examination results are likely to be announced in September 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit the Detailed Application Form (DAF) in October, followed by the personality test, which is scheduled to be held between November and December.
