FIFA denied rumours that Gianni Infantino had contacted US President Donald Trump in an attempt to avoid humiliation and maintain his position as the head of the apex football organisation. Due to the recent criticism of the FIFA President, UEFA has already stated that it no longer has faith in Infantino. After the body overturned the red card issued to US player Folarin Balogun at Trump’s request, a lot was said about Infantino. Infantino recently announced his intention to sell a partial share in the World Cup’s commercial rights, which infuriated UEFA, CONMEBOL, and AFC.
