The 20-year-old’s victory marked India’s fourth gold medal in boxing in the ongoing edition after Preeti Pawar, Jaismine Lombaria, and Sakshi Choudhary. This marks India’s most successful campaign in the history of the CWG. Previously, they had won three gold medals each in the 2010, 2018, and 2022 editions in Delhi, Gold Coast, and Birmingham, respectively. Meanwhile, the total of 10 medals is also the most by India in boxing in a single edition.
