During the trial, Khan pleaded guilty before the court on July 25. Taking note of his admission, the court convicted him and awarded the sentence. The court observed that the punishment should reflect the gravity of offences involving national security and sovereignty. It also ordered that the period Khan has already spent in judicial custody since November 21, 2023, will be adjusted against his sentence.
