For those unversed as per the rules of the competition, the last four athletes in the standings are eliminated after the third throw. Only the top eight qualify and are eligible to take a throw in the last three attempts. However, it is worth pointing out that the best throws of an athlete are counted in the final standings even if they come in the first three throws.
